Before fitting: • check the engine for loss of oil/oil leakage • identify and eliminate the cause of any loss of oil/oil leakage • clean the engine • check the plug to the oil level sensor on the vehicle side • remove any oil residue from the plug and clean the plug Note: Oil dripping onto the plug from the outside is often the cause of a defective sensor. This may well be the result of a leaking oil sump, a leaking oil trap or a leaking vacuum pump. Always check for such eventualities BEFORE fitting a new oil level sensor.

Observe the oil change intervals specified by your vehicle's manufacturer.
